GEM: The Grinspoon Experience for Madrichim (Teen Program)

The Grinspoon Experience for Madrichim, (or GEM) NewCAJE’s Program for Teens

Are you a teacher’s assistant or madrich in your Hebrew or Sunday school? Do you love working with your students? If this sounds like you, spend a week this summer with GEM at NewCAJE!

At GEM, you will meet the best people in the field of Jewish Education as well as peers who share your interests. You’ll learn tools, techniques, activities, and lessons to become a better teacher. And, you’ll get to hang out with amazing artists, dancers, and some of Jewish music’s rockstars!

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • You must be entering your Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of high school in the fall of 2018.
  • You must work in a Hebrew or Sunday school as a teacher’s assistant or madrich.
  • You must attend the whole conference, including Shabbat (July 27 and 28, 2018).
  • You must follow all rules of the GEM program.
  • You must come to NewCAJE with an adult sponsor*

*This can be your school’s principal, Rabbi, teacher OR your parent or a family friend who is attending the conference.

With a generous grant from The Grinspoon Foundation, NewCAJE can give teens a discounted conference price. GEM fees include lodging, meals, concerts, sessions, regular and specialized programming for the entire conference, plus Shabbat. The price will be updated in January 2018.
