Read the tabs below to find out more about travel to and from the conference
For planning purposes, consider this tentative schedule. Times will be confirmed soon.
Friday: For those coming for Shabbat: Check-in will open at 9AM and will be open until around 5:30PM. Shuttles from San Diego International will run all day until 5pm when our Shabbat programming will begin. SDI is about a 30-50 minute drive in normal traffic to San Diego State. Please note that evening traffic is heavier and can take longer than an hour, so give yourself plenty of time.
Saturday: We will not provide airport shuttles on Shabbat. If you have purchased an early arrival, plan to arrive after Havdalah (at around 8:30pm) when you can check into your room.
Sunday: Registration will open at 8am and will remain open all day. Intensives start at 8:30am. The first session of the conference will start at 1:30pm. Formal evening programming ends around 10:30pm.
Monday and Tuesday: Classes begin at 9am and end around 6pm. Formal evening programming ends around 10:30pm.
Wednesday: The conference will end at 2:00pm. Again, remember the distance to the airports when booking travel. Shuttles will be arranged all day, ending around 3 or 4pm.
San Diego State is about 12 miles from San Diego International Airport. Keep in mind that San Diego generally has heavy traffic, so give yourself plenty of time. You can take a bus and transfer to a trolley to get to the campus. San Diego does allow Uber and Lyft to pick up at the airport.
Shabbat programming will begin at approximately 5:00pm.
Sunday classes will start at 1:30pm.
Details
Shuttles will be available for round trip transportation to and from San Diego International on Friday, Sunday, and Wednesday. You can buy a seat on NewCAJE shuttles both to and from the conference. We will try to accommodate as many participants on shuttles as possible and coordinate participants arriving at similar times to travel together to the conference. Shuttles will likely be $35, and you can indicate your interest in the shuttle during registration.
Schedule

To plan your flight times, please consider the following:

– Saturday: We do not offer transportation services on Shabbat.
– Sunday: Conference programming will start at 1:30pm.
– Monday/Tuesday: We do not offer transportation services on Monday/Tuesday.

Traveling by train is a great, cost-effective way to get to and from NewCAJE15!
In addition to Amtrack, you can also take the light rail “trolley.” SDSU is on the Green Line, and the SDSU stop lets out nearby the classrooms and dorms we will be using on campus.
Parking is available at San Diego State University. You can indicate your interest in a parking pass on the registration form. We will email you information on how to register for a parking pass closer to the conference.
